Boone County Animal Care is dedicated to helping pets find and stay in loving homes. A significant focus of our group is trap, spay/neuter and release as an effort to reduce the overpopulation of cats and kittens.
Boone County Animal Care, a 501c3 non-profit animal welfare organization, is located in Columbia, Missouri. We are an entirely foster care based organization passionate about improving the lives of animals in our community. We provide care to cats and kittens of all ages and physical conditions until they are successfully adopted into a family home. A significant focus of our group is trap, spay/neuter and release as an effort to reduce the overpopulation of cats and kittens. This also significantly improves the overall health of the cats and kittens in the community, reduces the number of intakes for cats and kittens to local shelters, and over time, will make an impact on the number of feral and uncared for pets.
BCAC is active in the community by promoting adoptable pets at various pet events and conducting community education opportunities.
Adoption fees are intended to be reasonable to promote adoptions. However our adoption fees do not fully cover the expense of care for each cat and kitten. Costs to our organization includes spay/neuter, vet check with shots, microchip, and other treatment as necessary. In addition to the adoption fees, BCAC relies on individual donations and fundraising efforts by our volunteers to help us continue our mission.
