Compassion in Action! Together, we are saving cats’ lives, finding fur-ever homes, and stopping the cycle unwanted kittens!
Boone County Animal Care is an animal rescue with a compassion-first, no-kill approach. We work every day on behalf of animals in the Mid-Missouri community by offering safe, compassionate, and lifesaving care for countless animals in need.
Here’s how we work:
- We rescue and foster cats slated to be euthanized at other shelters.
- Our barn cat program helps less socialized cats and kittens find homes as safe and loved outdoor pets.
- We offer housecat adoptions, often following medical attention and specialized care.
- Our trap – spay/neuter – release program reduces the overpopulation of feral cats.
- We help pay for cat spaying and neutering so that cost is not a barrier to being a responsible pet parent. We’d much rather help you get your cat fixed now than try to find homes for a litter of kittens later!
Generous donors and dedicated volunteers make it possible! Boone County Animal Care is an ALL VOLUNTEER 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We gratefully accept gifts of all sizes and in-kind support of cat food and supplies. We’re always seeking volunteers to help with events, foster cats or kittens, and more.
You can be part of the solution.
Expert Pet Care
Boone County Animal Care is a 501c3 non-profit animal welfare organization located in Columbia, Missouri. We are entirely foster-based organization whose passion is improving the lives of animals in our community. We provide care to kittens and cats of all ages and physical condition until they are successfully adopted into a family home. A significant focus of our group is trap, spay/neuter and release (TNR) as an effort to reduce the overpopulation of cats. This also significantly improves the overall health of the cats in the community, reduces the number of animal intakes to local shelters and, over time, will make an impact on the number of feral and uncared for pets.
